Car Wash Conditions of Entry
By purchasing, redeeming, activating, or using any wash service (including single washes, prepaid services, gift vouchers, or Wash Club Membership services) at Hang 5 Carwash, you agree to the following Car Wash Conditions of Entry. These Conditions operate in conjunction with the Wash Club Terms of Agreement (where applicable).
1. GENERAL DISCLAIMER & AUTOMATED CONTACT
Hang 5 Carwash operates an automated express tunnel car wash system involving controlled and normal contact with vehicle surfaces.
By entering the wash tunnel, you acknowledge and accept that:
- Automated wash components make physical contact with exterior vehicle surfaces;
- Vehicles with pre-existing damage, weakened components, aftermarket modifications, non-factory fittings, or compromised structural integrity may present increased risk of failure during automated washing;
- The wash system is designed for vehicles in standard factory configuration unless otherwise approved.
Hang 5 Carwash is not responsible for damage resulting from:
- Pre-existing damage;
- Underlying defects;
- Structural weakness;
- Adhesive failure;
- Fatigued, deteriorated or improperly installed components;
- Non-factory modifications or altered vehicle geometry.
Minor surface marks or incidental contact consistent with normal automated washing operations do not of themselves establish negligence.
The occurrence of damage during or after the wash does not, of itself, establish causation or fault by Hang 5 Carwash.
2. EVIDENCE & RECORDS
In assessing any notification or allegation, Hang 5 Carwash may rely upon:
- CCTV footage;
- Entry and exit inspection images;
- Licence Plate Recognition (LPR) records;
- Transaction logs;
- Wash cycle data;
- Payment records;
- System diagnostics.
These electronic records are deemed accurate in the absence of manifest error and may take precedence over customer statements, recollections, or photographs taken after departure from site.
3. CLEAN GUARANTEE (REWASH ONLY)
If you are dissatisfied with the cleanliness of your wash, Hang 5 Carwash offers a same-day rewash guarantee, subject to the conditions below.
Clean Guarantee Conditions
- Applies to wash quality only, not vehicle damage;
- Must be raised before leaving the site or on the same day of the wash;
- Vehicle must be present on-site for assessment;
- Original wash must have been completed in accordance with all signage, prompts, and instructions;
- A rewash may be provided at staff discretion.
Exclusions
The Clean Guarantee does not apply to:
- Pre-existing stains, etching, or contamination;
- Heavy mud, tar, cement, tree sap, bug etching, or industrial fallout;
- Vehicles unsuitable for an express wash due to excessive build-up;
- Issues arising from failure to follow instructions or vehicle eligibility requirements.
The Clean Guarantee provides a rewash only. It does not include refunds, credits, repairs, compensation, or Membership extensions.
Providing a rewash does not imply fault, negligence, or acceptance of liability.
4. EXCLUDED ITEMS & MODIFIED VEHICLES
Hang 5 Carwash accepts no liability for damage to or loss of:
- Side mirrors, mirror covers, trims, moldings, badges, emblems;
- Antennas, wipers, spoilers, roof racks, snorkels, ladder racks, awnings;
- Licence plates or plate covers;
- Windscreens, glass panels, headlights, tail lights, sensors, cameras;
- Aftermarket items including wraps, PPF, graphics, body kits, diffusers, valve stems, non-factory accessories;
- Extended bumpers, lowered suspension components, splitters, skirts, altered vehicle geometry;
- Items that are loose, taped, glued, fatigued, poorly installed or previously repaired;
- Mechanical or electrical failures occurring during or after the wash.
Vehicles fitted with non-factory modifications, altered dimensions, lowered suspension, extended body kits, or aftermarket components enter entirely at the customer's own risk.
Vehicles with non-standard specifications may respond unpredictably to automated washing. The customer accepts the inherent risk associated with altered vehicle configurations.
Incompatibility arising from non-standard specifications does not establish negligence.
5. TOW HITCHES, REAR PROTRUSIONS & EQUIPMENT PROTECTION
Customers are strongly recommended to remove tow hitches, hitch receivers, removable tow balls, bike racks, and other rear-mounted accessories prior to entry.
Hang 5 Carwash accepts no liability for:
- Tow hitch assemblies or hitch receivers;
- Rear-mounted spare tyres;
- Open ute trays or tray contents;
- Extended rear bumpers or protruding accessories;
- Damage arising from protrusions extending beyond standard factory vehicle dimensions.
Where visible risk to wash equipment is identified, staff may retract, disable, or adjust certain wash components at their discretion to protect wash equipment.
Such action:
- Is solely for equipment protection;
- Does not constitute inspection or approval of vehicle suitability;
- Does not waive any exclusion in these Conditions;
- Does not create an assumption of liability.
6. PRE-EXISTING DAMAGE & COMPONENT FAILURE
Hang 5 Carwash is not liable for:
- Pre-existing damage;
- Underlying structural weakness;
- Broken clips or mounting points;
- Adhesive or bonding failure;
- Previously repaired areas;
- Corrosion, impact damage, fatigue or poor installation.
Failure of a component during or after the wash consistent with prior repair, modification, corrosion, or structural weakness will be treated as an underlying condition unless evidence establishes mechanical malfunction of the wash system.
The timing of a failure does not establish liability.
7. VEHICLE RESTRICTIONS & ELIGIBILITY
The following vehicles must not enter the wash:
- Vehicles with ground clearance below 120mm;
- Vehicles with overall height exceeding 2100mm;
- Vehicles with visible structural instability or loose components.
By proceeding past the height clearance bar or entering the tunnel, the customer confirms the vehicle complies with posted clearance restrictions.
Entry of an incompatible or modified vehicle is entirely at the customer's own risk.
Purchase of a Wash Club Membership does not override vehicle eligibility requirements, suitability restrictions, or safety exclusions.
8. CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES
Before entry, customers must:
- Ensure the vehicle is mechanically sound;
- Remove or securely fasten non-factory items;
- Fold mirrors where possible;
- Retract or remove antennas;
- Disclose unusual modifications prior to entry;
- Visually inspect the vehicle and not proceed if any component is loose, damaged, or compromised.
Customers concerned about vehicle condition are encouraged to photograph their vehicle prior to entry.
Failure to inspect or secure the vehicle remains the customer's responsibility.
9. NO INSPECTION OR VEHICLE APPROVAL
Entry into the wash tunnel does not constitute inspection, certification, or approval of vehicle suitability.
Hang 5 Carwash does not undertake a pre-wash inspection of vehicles unless expressly stated in writing.
Customers remain solely responsible for determining vehicle suitability prior to entry.
10. FAILURE TO FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS
Hang 5 Carwash is not responsible for damage caused by failure to follow:
- Pay-station prompts;
- Posted signage;
- Staff instructions.
Including but not limited to:
- Windows or sunroofs not fully closed;
- Failure to place vehicle in neutral;
- Brakes applied while inside the tunnel;
- Improper alignment;
- Driver distraction, including mobile phone use.
Any incident or damage resulting from driver input inside the tunnel remains the driver's responsibility.
11. NO RELIANCE ON STAFF STATEMENTS
Any verbal or informal statements made by on-site staff are provided for general assistance only and do not:
- Vary or override these Conditions;
- Form part of any contract;
- Create binding commitments regarding liability, refunds, or repairs.
On-site staff are not authorised to assess liability, approve repairs, promise compensation, or override the Wash Club Terms of Agreement.
12. NOTIFICATION OF ALLEGED VEHICLE DAMAGE
Any notification of alleged vehicle damage must be made before leaving the site or as soon as reasonably practicable on the same day of the wash.
Failure to notify in accordance with this clause may result in the claim being declined where independent verification is not reasonably possible.
Notifications must be submitted in writing via the designated form available at: Submit Notification
The notification must include:
- Vehicle registration;
- Date and approximate time of wash;
- Clear photographs of the alleged damage.
Hang 5 Carwash is not responsible for events occurring after the vehicle has exited the wash tunnel and left the site, including road debris, third-party interference, or subsequent contact.
Submission of a notification does not imply acceptance of liability.
13. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY & AUSTRALIAN CONSUMER LAW
To the fullest extent permitted by the Australian Consumer Law:
- Hang 5 Carwash excludes liability for indirect, consequential or economic loss;
- Where liability cannot be excluded by law, liability is limited to the re-supply of the services or the cost of re-supply, at our discretion.
Nothing in these Conditions excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights or remedies that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
14. ACCEPTANCE
By entering the wash tunnel, redeeming a wash, or activating a Membership wash, you confirm acceptance of these Car Wash Conditions of Entry in full.
These Conditions apply to both single-wash customers and Wash Club Members.
VEHICLE RESTRICTIONS (Prohibited Items)
The following vehicle types and accessories are not permitted in the wash tunnel:

Alloy Tray Utes

Snorkels

Roof Baskets

Bike Racks

Muddy Vehicles

Sand-Covered Vehicles

CB Antennas

Side Awnings
